Yes V, something is terribly wrong with this country.

The above excerpt is from the movie ‘V for Vendetta’ which is a film adaptation of the comic book series by Alan Moore.  This film doesn’t receive my full endorsement, mainly because V violates the principle of non-aggression by kidnapping Evie. Of course that’s part of what makes this a great flick.  However, in spite of that I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, especially the scene above.  Our nation, indeed our world is being terrorized into submission and slavery. The film depicts a possible future based on our current path. Read the adequate synopsis of the story and film here.

What V says in his monologue is very true. We are all guilty of allowing our freedoms to perish.  Government, it should never be forgotten, is the enemy of freedom, ironically it’s

primary function is to protect freedom. Thomas Jefferson said that “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance”. So if we wish to remain free, we must actively oppose government expansion beyond it’s constitutional limits. Of course that means we must understand what those limitations are, and why they were invented to begin with.

Are you concerned about the direction our country is headed? I would suggest that you read the Constitution and the Federalist Papers.  For a truly riveting synopsis of the loss of our liberties, the fleecing of our wealth, and the slow but deliberate erosion of the sovereignty of our nation, please read “The Creature From Jeckyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin.
